The Plantation Human Development Trust (PHDT) has launched the Disaster Relief 2025 Fund Raising Project to support plantation communities severely affected by recent natural disasters, including floods, landslides, and extreme weather events across several plantation regions in Sri Lanka.
These disasters have caused extensive damage to homes, livelihoods, basic infrastructure, and essential services, leaving many plantation families already among the most vulnerable struggling to meet their most basic needs.
Our Commitment
PHDT, as the national organization mandated to improve the living standards of plantation communities, is committed to responding swiftly and compassionately to this humanitarian crisis. Through this project, we aim to:
-
Provide immediate relief to affected families
-
Support rebuilding and repair of damaged houses
-
Restore access to clean water, sanitation, and basic utilities
-
Assist families in regaining livelihoods and stability
-
Strengthen community resilience against future disasters
Why Your Support Matters
For plantation workers and their families, disasters do not only destroy property—they disrupt livelihoods, education, health, and dignity. Many affected households lack the financial capacity to recover on their own.
Your contribution can make a direct and lasting impact, helping families move from crisis to recovery.
How Funds Will Be Utilized
All funds raised under the Disaster Relief 2025 project will be used transparently for:
-
Temporary shelter and housing repairs
-
Rehabilitation of essential community facilities
-
Support for vulnerable groups including women, children, elderly, and persons with disabilities
Join Us in Rebuilding Hope
We invite individual donors, corporate partners, development agencies, and well-wishers to stand with PHDT in restoring hope and dignity to plantation communities affected by disaster.
Together, we can help families rebuild not just their homes—but their futures.
Every contribution, big or small, brings hope to those in need.
