The Centralized Kitchen Concept project, conducted by the Plantation Human Development Trust (PHDT) and funded by the Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP), is an initiative designed to improve the nutrition and well-being of plantation workers in Sri Lanka. This project aims to provide healthy, balanced meals to workers and their families by preparing food in centralized kitchens and distributing it across nearby.

By ensuring access to nutritious meals, the project addresses food security challenges and enhances worker productivity. It also promotes sustainability by incorporating local ingredients and minimizing food waste, while empowering communities through local participation and job creation, especially for women. Supported by the ETP, this project aligns with its mission of fostering ethical labor practices and sustainable development in the tea industry.
