On August 6th, 2024, the Plantation Human Development Trust (PHDT) Nuwara Eliya Regional Office successfully organized a comprehensive training programme focused on child protection under the Participatory Child and Women Rights Protection Project. This vital event took place at the Nuwara Eliya Estate and aimed to enhance the understanding and implementation of child protection measures within the community.

The primary objective was to educate and empower participants on critical issues surrounding child protection and to foster a safe and supportive environment for children within the Nuwara Eliya region.

The training programme at Nuwara Eliya Estate was a significant step towards strengthening child protection measures in the region. By bringing together various stakeholders and providing them with essential knowledge and skills, the PHDT Nuwara Eliya Regional Office has laid a strong foundation for a safer and more supportive environment for children. The Participatory Child and Women Rights Protection Project continues to demonstrate its commitment to the well-being and rights of children and women, fostering a community where everyone can thrive in safety and dignity.
