The Grand Finale of the PHDT Inter Plantation Cricket Tournament 2025 was successfully held on Saturday, 06th September 2025, at Buddhadasa Grounds, Battaramulla with the enthusiastic participation of plantation sector teams and well-wishers.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Prabath Chandrakeerthi – Chairman, PHDT / Secretary to the Ministry of Plantation and Community Infrastructure, who commended the efforts taken to promote sportsmanship and unity among plantation communities through this annual event.
In a highly competitive final, Malwatte Valley Plantations Ltd emerged as the Champions, while Kelani Valley Plantations PLC secured the Runners-Up position. Adding further excitement to the tournament, the Plate Championship was claimed by Talawakellie Tea Estates PLC.
The tournament not only showcased exceptional cricketing talent but also strengthened the bonds of fellowship, teamwork, and community spirit across the plantation sector.
