On March 25, 2025, a special medical camp was held at Glenalphin Estate to commemorate International Women’s Day, providing essential healthcare services to 250 women. The event was coordinated by PHDT in partnership with the District Secretariat, Divisional Secretariat, Regional Director of Health Services (RDHS), and Medical Officer of Health (MOH) offices. The program was generously funded by the Indian High Commission, with the honorable Indian Assistant High Commissioner, Ms. V.S. Saranya, attending as the chief guest.
Prominent officials, including Mr. Panduka Prabath, District Secretary – Badulla, Dr. Panditharathna, Regional Director of Health Services – Badulla, Dr. Gawarammana, MOH – Badulla, Mr. A.S.B. Ekanayake, Regional Director – PHDT Badulla, Mr. Pilapitiya, Senior Manager – Glenalphin Estate, and other officers from respective authorities were also present.
The Glenalphin Estate Management extended its fullest cooperation, ensuring the event was organized smoothly for the benefit of the community and the organizers.

Eye screening
Breast cancer screening
Pap smear tests
Body Mass Index (BMI) measurements
Outpatient Department (OPD) services
Adult registration at the Healthy Lifestyle Centre (HLC)
Awareness sessions on food labels and color codes
This initiative aimed to promote health awareness and early detection of critical health issues, marking a meaningful celebration of International Women’s Day.
