On January 10, 2025, the PHDT Director General Mr. Lal Perera conducted an CDC inspection visit to three key estates in the Nuwara Eliya Region: Edinburgh Estate, Somerset Estate, and Pedro Estate.
This visit aimed to evaluate operational efficiency, infrastructure development, and ongoing initiatives within these estates.
During the visit, the Director General engaged with estate management and staff, discussing strategies for enhancing productivity, sustainability, and the welfare of estate workers. Special attention was given to initiatives addressing worker housing, education, and healthcare.
The visit underscored the commitment to ensuring the estates operate at their full potential while maintaining a strong focus on worker well-being and environmental sustainability.
