On June 20th, 2024, PHDT organized a Watershed Management Awareness Program at the PHDT Head Office , in collaboration with RA & Kirin Beverages. The event focused on promoting sustainable practices in watershed management and featured Mr. Jehan Canagarathne, the RA representative for Sri Lanka, and Mr. Moosa as the keynote speakers.
Mr. Canagarathne provided an insightful overview of watershed management, emphasizing its critical role in water conservation, soil erosion prevention, and biodiversity enhancement. He shared success stories and best practices from various regions, inspiring attendees to adopt similar measures in their communities.
Mr. Moosa’s keynote address delved into practical strategies for effective watershed management, including rainwater harvesting, afforestation, and sustainable agriculture. He highlighted the importance of community involvement and collaborative efforts in achieving long-term sustainability goals.
